Gain Insights About Your Business

Welcome to my Business Profit blog.

I think I'll kick this off by telling you a little about myself and what this blog is all about.

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Ball State University in 1991 and, after much blood, sweat, and tears, I became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Indiana. I'm a business owner, a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, and a Certified Business Profit Consultant. For relaxation, I like moving (shooting hoops, playing racquetball, walking in nature). I'm always learning and evolving. Becoming a Certified Business Profit Consultant is my latest evolution.

So what is a Certified Business Profit designation all about?

The Certified Business Profit Consultant (CBPC) is a designation that identifies accounting professionals with the unique ability to deliver business consulting services in four areas beyond traditional accounting and tax compliance: revenue, profits, cash flow, and pricing.

CBPCs help owners of small and mid-sized businesses to:

  • Gain confidence and understanding about the financial results of their businesses

  • Train small business owners to take action to increase their profits and revenues

  • Price properly in order to meet desired profit margins

  • Learn ways to speed cash flow and reduce debt

The CBPC was developed to fill the wide financial literacy gap between what small businesses are receiving from their accountants and what they really need to become strong financially. Nearly 80% of small business owners do not know how to read their financial reports.

My goal, as a CBPC, is to help you gain insights about yourself and your business and to turn your accounting expense into profits. I hope you find my blog to be informative and educational.
